PCOS Doesn't Have to Control Your Life

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (now officially renamed Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome, or PMOS, by global consensus in May 2026) affects as many as 1 in 5 women in India. Whether you know it as PCOS, PCOD, or PMOS, the condition is the same. Irregular periods, weight gain, acne, hair loss, and difficulty conceiving, the symptoms are real and can feel relentless. Medication like the pill or metformin has its place, but on its own it often doesn't address what's driving your symptoms in daily life.

At Fertilia, Dr. Suganya Venkat and her team help women across India work on the root causes of PCOS, insulin resistance, inflammation, and hormonal imbalance, alongside the medical care from their own gynaecologist. Our clinic holds a 5.0 rating on Google, and you can read real, consent-verified patient stories from women we've cared for.

Our multidisciplinary team of doctors, nutritionists, and coaches builds a personalised protocol that works for your body, your PCOS drivers, and your life. Join the online PCOS symptom reversal program from anywhere in India, with a plan built around you. (Why we say symptom reversal: PCOS is a chronic syndrome with a genetic basis, the syndrome itself is not curable, but the symptoms, insulin resistance, irregular cycles, weight gain, acne, anovulatory infertility, are reversible when the underlying drivers are addressed. Read the honest version.)

Common Questions

About PCOS Reversal, Honestly Answered

By Dr. Suganya Venkat, OB-GYN with 15+ years of clinical experience.

Can PCOS be reversed?

The syndrome itself cannot be reversed — PCOS has a genetic basis and is classified as a chronic condition. What absolutely can be reversed, and is well-documented in clinical research, is its symptoms: irregular cycles, anovulation, weight gain, acne, scalp hair loss, excess facial and body hair, and the insulin resistance and inflammation underneath. When women, doctors, and articles say "PCOS reversal," what they mean clinically is symptom reversal — and that is achievable when the underlying drivers are addressed.

Is PCOS reversal real, or is it just a marketing term?

Both — and the distinction matters. Symptom reversal is real, measurable, and supported by clinical literature (Lim 2019 Cochrane review on lifestyle in PCOS; Moran 2011 on weight management in PCOS). Syndrome reversal is not, because PCOS has a genetic component. The two get conflated in marketing, which is one of the reasons we deliberately say "PCOS symptom reversal" everywhere on this page — it is the honest version of what we actually do.

What does "PCOS reversal" actually mean?

It is a popular shorthand, not a clinical term. The honest clinical version is that PCOS is managed long-term, and its symptoms can be pushed into remission — sometimes deeply enough that a woman is essentially symptom-free for years while she keeps the habits that put her there. That sustained, symptom-free state is what most people mean by "reversal." It is achievable. It is not "cure."

Can PCOS symptoms be reversed without medication?

Often, yes. Whether you can go medication-free depends on your specific PCOS drivers — insulin resistance, inflammation, adrenal stress, or hormonal rebound — and the severity of each. Women whose primary driver is insulin resistance, for example, frequently respond well to nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress changes alone. Medicines like metformin or the pill remain valuable when they are the right call. They are tools, not failures. The 90-day program identifies which group you fit and builds the right plan around it.

How long does PCOS symptom reversal take?

Most women see the first changes within 4–6 weeks — typically better energy, more stable mood, and reduced sugar cravings. Cycle regulation usually takes 2–3 months once the underlying driver is being addressed. Weight, skin, and hair changes are slower and depend on each woman's starting point. The 90-day window is enough to produce a measurable shift in cycles and the metabolic markers underneath — it is not enough to undo years of insulin resistance entirely, which is why the habits matter beyond the program.

If I stop the program, will the PCOS symptoms come back?

PCOS's genetic component is still there — the habits matter beyond the program. But the habits we work on (steady protein, low-glycaemic Indian meals, daily movement, sleep, stress management) are not impossible to keep, and many of the women who finish the program continue them naturally because they have started feeling the difference. If habits drift significantly for several months, some symptoms can return. The good news is that the same habits that resolved them the first time will resolve them again, and the foundation is already built.
